andrewxp is the music project of Los Angeles-based artist Michael Frank, creating his own unique blend of nostalgic electronica. Pulling influence from artists like Four Tet, Caribou, 90s experimental rock, and hip-hop instrumentalists, the result is an eclectic mix of tracks that shift in vibe and tempo while keeping to a singular voice.Each track starts from a small musical idea then expands; the focus is on letting the music breathe and become whatever it wants to be. Frank has been exploring sound and arrangement since his early years, moving from post-hardcore and hip-hop as a teenager into electronic, dance and ambient music This led to a love of raw musical expression that serves as a guide when writing new tracks.His first single, "p.c.h.", releases on September 26, followed by the "music music" EP (a nod to the track of same title by Eyedea). Frank is currently writing material for his next project, "the end is the beginning".
